About Me

My photo
This is my "snapshot scrapbook" of our daily doings for my children and family. I hope to preserve the "everyday" for my children and for us so that we can always read it and remember.

Timeline

I have been thinking about timelines lately. Above is a Mac timeline and as a fan of many Apple products, it makes me smile and feel nostalgic, especially as I definitely had one of the first set of macs on the left in my kindergarten classroom and have used a majority of the machines in the list over the decades. Sigh...
It seems fitting to reflect on timelines as the fact looms that we are soon to leave Greenville on June 22...I find myself in this strange place in my own personal timeline: nostalgic, excited for a new adventure, exhausted for a new adventure, eager yet neutral, thrilled yet paused.  We are also so thankful to report that we have sold the house! What a massive blessing! We have a rental home in Jackson that is almost double the size of our current house, which will afford us huge luxuries that we do not have now, such as the girls each having their own bedroom and having space for visitors. All in all, I am so grateful for where we've been, where we are and where we are going...Who knows what's in store ahead!

Bathing Beauties

We've had a big day! We took the girls to the Atlanta Aquarium and now have returned home to play in the sprinkler and eat watermelon. Nice.

School days

Sullivan has made some great friends at school this year! Here she is below with some of them at their "3k Fun Day" event last Friday. They have learned much more than I expected in this class, from tracing the whole alphabet, tracing her name and now writing her name independently, knowing many shapes and even doing simple math along with colors, counting, rhyming and Bible and scripture lessons.
Thank you Mrs. Phillips and Mrs. Crittendon for a wonderful school year!

Brave

Sullivan did quite well at the dreaded 4 year check up yesterday, handling probes, prods and shots with little protest. Tearfully, upon leaving, she asked to go home and read books and have quiet time. So sweet! She also came home with a precious Mother's Day card from school with one of her first signatures on it...I love you, Sullivan, and am so proud of how brave you were!

Backyard busy-ness

We were busy in the backyard this afternoon. It was shady, breezy and just wonderful to be outside. In the end, it got a little messy as well...

SawyerSpeak

I pray that I can always recall the sweet, high-pitched voices of my children right now...There is just something magical about a child's voice and especially of the very young child. Here are Sawyer's hilarious phrases and words right now at almost 20mos that constantly make us smile:
-Sussy (Sullivan)
-Buh pit ah  (Bubble Guppies, her favorite show)
-Bah pak (Backpack from Dora, she loves the little song he sings...)
-Nahooo (No)
-Ami (Elmo)
-Appity (Appley Dappley from the Peter Rabbit Books)
-Ahbee ( a verb...usually "abrir" (to open) or "bajar" (to get down))
-Dahdee (Daddy or what she says for sandals)
-Outside (her favorite place to be)
-Cakcoo (cracker)
-Boppee ("batido" (smoothie))
-Bee (book)

Curls

No one in our family has natural curls...no one but Sawyer. Not sure where they come from, but we adore them. Hope that they last! Curl, baby, curl!!!
