About Me

My photo
This is my "snapshot scrapbook" of our daily doings for my children and family. I hope to preserve the "everyday" for my children and for us so that we can always read it and remember.

THIS is summer

I am just now really coming to understand my Canon Powershot S95.  And in exploring its capabilities, I captured a few key moments during our "Camp Montgomery" over the last two weeks. These photos will hopefully bring alive the summer of 2012 for my girls one day. In the meantime, they certainly do for me.

Sweetest Honey

Pizza!

Worms in the dirt desserts...

Rice crispy treats...

Swim lessons with Carlynn...

We are now spending time with Lee's parents and our Honey
(Lee's mom) has showered us with fun events that just enchant the girls! From making pizza, crispy treats and "worms in the dirt", and swimming lessons, we are really enjoying our "camp Montgomery". Thank you, Honey!

Zoo+ Lake

The Montgomery Zoo has stepped up it's game since my last visit in 1987. I was pleasantly surprised! The girls loved the tigers, monkeys, snakes and hippo. We even got to feed parakeets and get on the train.

More fun with Animal-shaped pancakes a la GiGi...

Below, creating a zoo of their own...

And Today we are visiting my sister and her family on Lake Martin. Lounging at the lake...

A big Fourth

We had a great independence day today with my parents:
-a breezy early morning walk
-waterplay outside all morning
- watermelon on the deck
-Sullivan got an at-home haircut! (It is not even but looks alright.)
-Sullivan got to go see Brave the movie with her Gigi and Waylo
-and finally we all went to my parents country club for swimming, dinner, pony rides and Jump castles!

All we need is Lee!
Happy 4th to you and yours!

Going big while at home

Me and the girls are home in Montgomery for a brief visit and I feel like we are "going big" with each day here. We have done so much in little time and well...I am exhausted!  We have spent time with our cousins, McRae and Josephine; seen Honey (Lee's mom) and the amazing new playset that she has at her house for the girls, below; bought snazzy New Balance tennis shoes for Sullivan; been to eat Italian at Corsino's; gone blueberry picking near Wetumpka, photos below; and swimming with dear friends tonight. The girls have collapsed in their beds and now it is time for me to do the same. And yet there is more to come with the celebration of the ordination into the priesthood of our friend Victor Ingalls tomorrow!
