This is my "snapshot scrapbook" of our daily doings for my children and family. I hope to preserve the "everyday" for my children and for us so that we can always read it and remember.

4th Birthday Party

We had a blast at Greenville Gymnastics for Sullivan's 4th birthday party! Honey (Lee's mom) was there to help us throw the special event and provided amazing personalized pencil pouches for all of the children. I think Sullivan really enjoyed the whole thing...this year she truly understood and appreciated the "birthday experience". Very fun!

Ooh at the zoo

We had such a fun morning ooohing and ahhing at the zoo animals today with wonderful friends. Those howler monkeys are truly a sight to be seen and heard. Sawyer was shaking with fear, although the 3 below were squealing in delight.

Preschool Angst

Shortly after arriving at the school for pickup today, Sullivan announced that she was "too tired to talk" and did not want to tell me anything about her day. She repeated this answer twice more to my prompts about her day, sang Justin Beiber in the car ride home and only wants to color with markers on her body now, not on paper.

What?!

Party Fun!

The birthday girl in her princess birthday hat!

Uh oh! Sawyer is getting a little crushed here!

Enjoying her apple...

We had a great time celebrating our dear friend Emma's birthday on Saturday!
Our sweet friend Carly took a few pics of us. Thanks, Carly!

Sorting it out

As many of you know, we are soon to leave Greenville as our 5yr residency is coming to a close. (Insert many tears here.) We put our house up for sale about a week ago and have been blessed with many showings this week. Well, after several of these showing, where I clean, then place the girls in the car, run back into the house to organize and "stage" final things, Sullivan is getting curious. Once I got back to the car today after a particularly long "staging" time, our conversation went something like this as she is trying to sort out this whole, rather confusing, moving process:

Sullivan: (Moaning) Mommy, I don't want to be in the car anymore.

Me: I know, Sullivan. I am sorry. We have to leave because some people are coming to visit to see if they want to buy our house.

Sullivan: Oh. People will buy our house? We will live in another house? Why?

Me: Yes, someone will buy our house and we will go live in another house. We are doing this because of Daddy's work.

Sullivan: Daddy's working? In Montgomery?

Me: Yes, Daddy is working right now. First we will go to Jackson, MS,for his work and then to Montgomery to stay.

Sullivan: And be with Josephine? And swim with her? (Her cousin)

(Pause) Those people are gonna bought our house?...

(incredulously) Well, it is really heavy!!!

I could tell her little mind was spinning with the thought of these next two towns and then also of people purchasing our home and then physically taking it away with them as one does with many items once they are bought! Ha!

But seriously, this is a lot for all of us right now...

A lot on me to emotionally to prepare to leave so many dear friends and home that we have come to love (and to keep the house up and show it!) and also yet a lot on my little girl who is just trying to sort out what is happening each day and where we will go next!

Fro Yo

Me and my girls love frozen yogurt, a perfect outing and treat when Daddy has to work. And this time I came prepared with bibs and wipes, what a mess!

18mos

Sawyer is 18mos today! She continues to be a sweet natured child (with a few sassy moments and food-launching tendencies)and her language is really taking off. Her newest and funniest words are "barbie, sissy, pee pee". She responds and follows simple directions in both languages and mumbles a few Spanish words like "si'" and "gracias". She loves being outside and exploring any place, is inquisitive and very affectionate and cuddly. Still at 18lbs, she is our tiny angel.
Happy 1.5yrs Sawyer!

15hrs

Amazing how a quick 15hr getaway can really rejuvenate! My parents came in town this weekend and generously offered for me and Lee to spend Saturday evening and night away. What an offer! It has been a while since our last "overnight escape" and so we lived it up! Lee planned for us to have drinks at Deveraux's, dinner at Nantucket and we even got to join friends and listen to music at Brown Street before spending the night in a hotel. Such fun! We had a blast and really enjoyed our time with my parents eating gumbo, pizza at Barley's, attending a Tea party birthday party for Sullivan, flying a kite on Sunday and just lounging and visiting. Thank you for everything, Gigi and Waylo!
