New Favorites

My precious angel girls, just for the record, here are your "current favorites" before quiet time and bedtime:

Sullivan at age 4: Amelia Bedelia Books, The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, and Paddington Bear.
Sawyer at age 22mos: Moo, Baa, La la la by Sandra Boynton and Blue Hat Green Hat also by Boynton, as well as Five Little Pumpkins and Bubbles Bubbles with Elmo.

Gym Class Hero

My own Little Gym class hero had her "performance day" recently at the end of season and showed off her new skills at tap, ballet and gymnastics. She even received her first "award", as they present each student with a medal of completion.  She learned so much and reports that she would like to continue taking all three types of class.
Sullivan loved it all and so did Sawyer...during the performance, as I was trying to take a picture of Sullivan, Sawyer escaped from my grasp and ran over to a mat, placed her head on it and tried to do a forward roll! Needless to say, Sawyer performed that day as well.

Timeline

I have been thinking about timelines lately. Above is a Mac timeline and as a fan of many Apple products, it makes me smile and feel nostalgic, especially as I definitely had one of the first set of macs on the left in my kindergarten classroom and have used a majority of the machines in the list over the decades. Sigh...
It seems fitting to reflect on timelines as the fact looms that we are soon to leave Greenville on June 22...I find myself in this strange place in my own personal timeline: nostalgic, excited for a new adventure, exhausted for a new adventure, eager yet neutral, thrilled yet paused.  We are also so thankful to report that we have sold the house! What a massive blessing! We have a rental home in Jackson that is almost double the size of our current house, which will afford us huge luxuries that we do not have now, such as the girls each having their own bedroom and having space for visitors. All in all, I am so grateful for where we've been, where we are and where we are going...Who knows what's in store ahead!

Brave

Sullivan did quite well at the dreaded 4 year check up yesterday, handling probes, prods and shots with little protest. Tearfully,upon leaving, she asked to go home and read books and have quiet time. So sweet! She also came home with a precious Mother's Day card from school with one of her first signatures on it...I love you, Sullivan, and am so proud of how brave you were!

I pray that I can always recall the sweet, high-pitched voices of my children right now...There is just something magical about a child's voice and especially of the very young child. Here are Sawyer's hilarious phrases and words right now at almost 20mos that constantly make us smile:

Zzzzzz

Sawyer's sweet teacher,Ms.Beth, sent me this picture from school on Wednesday afternoon, when Sawyer had finally given into a nap...so adorable.
