About Me

My photo
This is my "snapshot scrapbook" of our daily doings for my children and family. I hope to preserve the "everyday" for my children and for us so that we can always read it and remember.

The Princess of Droolandia

We can hardly keep her in a dry outfit! Our darling girl is beginning to teethe and in order to do so, a steady stream of saliva trickles down her little chin! So, we have lots of wiping, bib donning, burp cloth grabbing and bathing. She endears all to her as she has discovered how to blow her lips together and shower those near. Often I go in for a kiss only to have a blast of Sully saliva happily shot my way! Ha! She is also doing great with solid foods and her diet now includes rice and oatmeal cereal, peas, green beans and her favorite, avocados.

Wes and Gillian's Wedding Shower

The ortho group celebrated Wes and Gillian's upcoming wedding in September with a shower last night at our house! We had a great turn out and Lee, Shane and Kristin helped pull it off! The honored couple got some wonderful gifts for their home and all enjoyed the cool, breezy night. Sullivan hung in there well and fell asleep a bit later than usual due to all the excitement. Meanwhile, everyone smiled as Lee and me had our "baby beeper" monitors on our belts during the outdoor party. Ha!

Uh oh!

Sullivan continues to be a joy and is so curious and observant. She has finally begun to really have fun in the bathtub! She also was mesmerized by Daddy's beer and loves the flashing lights of the television and computer! Uh oh!
This was a big week for us in other ways as well because Sullivan went to her day school for the first time (and did great!) and I began teaching again. Thankfully, we just do this routine on Mondays and Wednesdays!

Kristen's Wedding!

At 5 months of age, Sullivan has been quite a traveler! And has been a trooper at that! She has been to AL,FL, SC, NC, and GA at her tender age. This time, Mom helped me attend Kristen's wedding in Mobile, AL, and the three of us had a blast! Mom played the roll of "Nanny extraordinaire" and I got the privilege of being Kristen's Matron of Honor. It was a beautiful affair and Kristen glowed with regal elegance and poise.

On the road!

Sullivan and I just returned from almost a week away to visit family in Montgomery and attend my dear friend Kristen's wedding in Mobile, AL. Along the way, we stopped and shared some solid moments with the grandparents: Gigi and Waylo and Honey and Murph. Sullivan even had her first "dip" into the pool (only her toes) and was, of course, showered with kisses.

Yuck!

Green beans! Sullivan had her 4 month check up today and Dr. Earl gave us a great report and said to send her onward with green and orange veggies. So, she had her very first meal of "real food" today and was, well...underwhelmed. She's not quite sure where to put her tongue, how to suck the spoon and what the weird green goo is. But, it was the cutest thing to watch her expressions! Hopefully, she take a liking to the goo soon...her father the doctor, on the other hand, may never encourage it as he is thoroughly disgusted by all babyfood. So funny!

Strolling in the Park

Sullivan loves to be strolled! Just like any motion (car, swing, etc.), it puts her right to sleep! Here we are on our Friday walks with Kristin Hill and her dog Matty. We have a great loop and Sullivan and Matty enjoy it while Kristin and I try to burn some cals.

We have all been sick this week with colds or allergies or both. Hopefully, we are all on the mend, but Lee is suffering the most! He has the Tues/Fri/Sun call schedule this week and his lack of sleep is keeping him from recovering fully. Ugh.
