About Me

My photo
This is my "snapshot scrapbook" of our daily doings for my children and family. I hope to preserve the "everyday" for my children and for us so that we can always read it and remember.

Exploring

Here are a few recent pics of the girls from the last week or two. Sawyer's personality is really emerging...she loves music, playing "cook" and following her big sister's lead. She wants to be in the mix and is happy-go-lucky most of the time. Sullivan is busy with her own projects, whether that is crafting a cat costume to wear to school for the next day, building a "fire pit" outside, picking flowers, dancing and climbing all over outside and in.

Sawyer found this toy violin at the Cracker Barrell and was quite interested...we'll see where this goes! She seems so interested in music.

Sawyer packed her grocery cart, put on her cowboy hat and exclaimed, "I goin Chicka Lay!".

Baby ducks at a nearby lake.

A few favorites

I recently found several pictures of Lee that I just love and need to get prints of...
I need to take more family pictures. Here are a few favorites.
A crisp day in downtown Greenville. I love these two shots of him with the girls, above and below.

The day after Sawyer was born. I think my Dad took this one. I love that it is candid.
Us dancing the night away at our cousin Maury's wedding. Such an experience...yes, that is Diamond Rio playing in the background.

I love you, Lee!
You make my life so much better and I am so grateful that I get to be your wife.

More outdoors

We have had a surprisingly cool spring here in Jackson and are loving it. Lots of rain has brought breezes that have kept us outdoors. We also invested in an Intex blow-up pool below, that was the best $40 bucks I've spent in a while.

Earlier this week
I set up the girls to do some watercolor painting outside, but before I knew it the paper was gone and they had painted their hands and nails!?
This one below is a favorite. Sawyer loves her pink cowboy boots and being in Daddy's Truck. In fact, she often calls Lee "Big Truck Daddy".  He melts.

In other news, after 4 trips, 2 contracts extended and about 8wks on the trail, we still have no new home in Montgomery. Please say a prayer for us. This black cloud has to blow over soon.

Just because...

I love this picture.
Sullivan seems to be becoming quite a little lady right before our eyes and she looks so grown up to me in this shot. She looks so much like Lee.  I know that she just turned 5, but it really seems like she is 12 some days with her fierce independence, tenacity and general "go getter" attitude. Lee snapped this photo of her the other day as we were playing in the sprinkler and making bath tubs out of coolers, which is a favorite activity of the moment.  So...here's to her childhood!
Let me soak it up before it slips away.

A visit to the Capitol

All 16 of the two 4K classes on the steps of the Capitol Building.
Awaiting our tour.
A touch windy!? We couldn't seem to get a decent picture. Ha!
Sullivan peering up at the magnificent marble, glass and iron domes.

The dome of the Senate Chamber.

Last Thursday I was able to join Sullivan's 4K class as they visited our beautiful Mississippi State Capitol Building. Built in 1903, it is four stories of hand-crafted stainglass and gorgeous domes; this Capitol Building is an architectural sight to be seen.  The tour was led by a previous preschool teacher and she did a great job meeting the children at their level and engaging them about the building and what happens there. We got to tour the Senate chamber and the House Chamber and all in all it was really a memorable trip. Thank you, St. Luke's!

The Great Outdoors

Despite some strong winds and rain lately, we have also had some warm, beautiful days. Here are a few recent pics of the girls enjoying themselves outside.

Our church Easter Egg Hunt was post-poned due to rain until April 7...The girls had a great time hunting again and even walked away with some fun new prizes. Here, they excitedly await the race!
We all had a laugh as Sawyer slid into Daddy's huge boots! Too cute!
Rolly Pollys! At the moment, the girls are enchanted by ants, spiders, worms and rolly pollys, above. I don't know how long this will last, but we are sure are having a good time chasing down the creepy crawlies right now.

Sullivan's 5th Birthday Party

Waiting for our guests to arrive...
Action shot.
Sullivan wanted a circus-themed party, but insisted on a princess castle cake.
Bubbles!
Artsy shot from Lee. Well done.

We have had an awesome day over here! Sullivan has been truly head over heels excited about her special Circus-themed birthday party! She was up before 7am to wait outside for the Bounce House to arrive. Lots of school friends, friends from home and residency as well as new fellowship friends were able to join us on this beautiful, clear and warm morning to bounce, eat popcorn, blow bubbles and celebrate our Sullivan! Happy Birthday, angel!
