About Me

This is my "snapshot scrapbook" of our daily doings for my children and family. I hope to preserve the "everyday" for my children and for us so that we can always read it and remember.

Second Grade!

Sullivan started the second grade with Mrs. McDonald on August 18. So far she is off to a great start! She is reading like a champ, writing summaries each evening and jumping back into the math fact plan. We are so excited for her!

Greer is a walking man!

I don't have any footage as of yet, but our Greer is taking steps, more more each day! I can officially say he started walking at 13 months. He is babbling and cooing more words all the time… he says mama, dada, and something that resembles "si" and "mas" in Spanish.  He communicates effectively by pointing and gesturing and I feel as though he can tell me what he wants, which surprises me!

NYC Wedding

 The cityscape from Central park.
Matt and Klara dance their first dance as a married couple.
 Opulent table settings!
We pose as the ceremony begins.
 The cake!
Above and below, we await the wedding festivities.
 Below, the 9-11 Memorial pools.
Below, Lee sits in the decadent micro-foodhall in the bottom of the Plaza Hotel. Affordable and delicious, this foodhall offered tons of options at mini-restaurants. We ate there often.
 The Plaza!

Above, the Palm Court at the Plaza. Below, Mom and Dad man the frontlines at home.
Lee and I had the chance to go to New York City this early August to attend a wedding of a friend from our fellowship year. Matt and Klara were wed at the Plaza Hotel on Fifth Avenue in what was quite a three-part event. We enjoyed the pre-wedding music, food and bar, then had a traditional jewish ceremony and finally had dinner and dancing in the Grand Ballroom until 2am. Truly an experience!  We were able to stay at the Plaza for two nights and enjoy the sights, sounds and delights of the city, nestled right beside Central Park. Although we had little time, we did get to see the 9-11 Memorial Museum, Saint Patrick's Cathedral, shop and eat a bit and in general, live a very different life for about 48hrs. Amazing.
Thank you to my parents and Colleen for the childcare and love!!!

My Blog app on my phone hasn't been working well and thus, it has been hard to keep up blogging as it now means that I need to sit down at my computer. This has been a challenge this summer! Hopefully, new apps will come and I can get back up to speed. In the meantime, here are a few other shots from our summer-time lives.

Georgia Acquarium

I was able to take the girls to Atlanta to be with our sweet friends the Kennas in early August. We enjoyed our hotel, the northpoint mall and the beautiful creatures in the Aquarium. They especially lived the dolphins, otters and dragon fish, above.

Sawyer, age 4.5

My precious Sawyer is getting so big as she approaches Pre-K! She is busy this summer taking Spanish and soccer lessons at preschool, swim classes and creating all sorts of art and fun at home. She is still our precious baby Kitty Cat and loves to pretend, direct play and imagine.
