About Me

My photo
This is my "snapshot scrapbook" of our daily doings for my children and family. I hope to preserve the "everyday" for my children and for us so that we can always read it and remember.

A big Fourth

We had a great independence day today with my parents:
-a breezy early morning walk
-waterplay outside all morning
- watermelon on the deck
-Sullivan got an at-home haircut! (It is not even but looks alright.)
-Sullivan got to go see Brave the movie with her Gigi and Waylo
-and finally we all went to my parents country club for swimming, dinner, pony rides and Jump castles!

All we need is Lee!
Happy 4th to you and yours!

Delay expected

We are now visiting family in Alabama as Lee remains in Jackson and prepares for his big orthopedic board exam on July 12.
I have left our new home in disarray and still in boxes and the city has left our front lawn in an equal state as they are changing our street into a cul-de-sac as well, which explains the lovely red "Gotta Go" they gifted us in our front lawn. Nothing says "welcome to Jackson!" quite like this!
This is a form of southern hospitality that I am not familiar with..
More house pics to come in late July.
Happy 4th!

Exploring

Swinging together at the park.

In Brent's Drugs, the actual soda shop in The Help.

Cruising the new library...

We have gotten stir crazy with all the unpacking and the heat and have ventured out into town...we explored our gorgeous neighborhood, new preschool, downtown, Brent's Drugs, Primo's cafe, Winner's Circle Park and library, as well as Millsaps College. Jackson is turning on the charm!

Parting and starting

We have now parted from dear Greenville and made it to our new home in Jackson, MS! We are in pieces as we arrived yesterday afternoon, but as you can see Sullivan is making the most of it with her "box cave". Here she prepares bamboo for some unknown special purpose....more to come once we settle.

The Graduate

Last weekend was big as Lee graduated from his five-year orthopedic residency at Greenville Memorial hospital. We couldn't be more proud! We also had the annual Department Roast, celebrated Father's Day and our 7th wedding anniversary. What a weekend!

Gym Class Hero

My own Little Gym class hero had her "performance day" recently at the end of season and showed off her new skills at tap, ballet and gymnastics. She even received her first "award", as they present each student with a medal of completion.  She learned so much and reports that she would like to continue taking all three types of class.
Sullivan loved it all and so did Sawyer...during the performance, as I was trying to take a picture of Sullivan, Sawyer escaped from my grasp and ran over to a mat, placed her head on it and tried to do a forward roll! Needless to say, Sawyer performed that day as well.
