The BreakUp Artist
These days it seems that Sullivan is quick to terminate our relationship. I thought I had a ways to go before this would begin, but no...
I try not to worry too much about it, tell her lovingly that I understand that that is how she feels and that it is ok with me and I will always love her.
She soon changes her mind and then we begin the whole process again...whew.
The exclamations usually include a request to stop kissing her, looking at her, to refrain from being her friend, that we can no longer play together or read books, that I will not be invited to her birthday party, etc. But she really hit a new level of crazy (yet creative) yesterday in the car. Having a full blown, totally random fit about her car seatbelt all of the sudden being too tight, she declared that there were tiny crabs in her carseat, nibbling at her side as well as scorching blisters onto her eyes that I was really not very nice to not stop the car at that very instant and attend to her.
And that I was no longer her mommy.
Wow.
She was truly disappointed when Lee and I could not see the crab bites on her side later on.
And also that she spent the evening in her room while her sister watched the special night-time tv show.
I'll keep you posted on whether or not those pesky crabs return.

this one had me rolling! :) oh, these times can be difficult (even now we are starting with selah's 'bad girl tone' of voice and her saying to me: 'don't talk to me,' 'don't say that,' etc.) but alas, i'm sure you and s will grow to have such a close relationship and these stories will be cause for much laughter later on :)
Wow, she's so descriptive! I miss my Sullivan and will stay tuned for part 2. Hope it gets better!
Catie, that is a good one! So glad you wrote it down!
