About Me

My photo
This is my "snapshot scrapbook" of our daily doings for my children and family. I hope to preserve the "everyday" for my children and for us so that we can always read it and remember.

On the prowl...

For several things these days...

1. Mexican food. It seems to fit the bill right now, much to Lee's chagrin.
2. A new computer.

Yes, my 2004 ibook has gone to the nether-nether computer land and will not even turn on. Grrrhhh. This means that I can't upload my photos, access files, etc., etc. Friends, do you like the computer you have now? Any suggestions? As I am now teaching an online class, I'll need to remedy this issue soon.

Hope that you all are well and thank you for your kind "baby news" comments. Our first ob appointment is Tuesday and Lee can be there! We are pumped.

My mom is on her way up right now and then Lee and I are off for the weekend to Charlotte! (Savannah was axed as I-26 is closed!?) We are so grateful for some real R&R at the swishy Omni hotel in downtown Charlotte. Lee needs it desperately, as he is on Spine right now. I just hope the winter weather doesn't make it too difficult for us...

Have a great weekend!

And then there were...

Four!

Yes! We have the exciting news to share that we are expecting a second baby! We are so happy! And, to top it off, this child is 7 weeks along and due the first week or so of September, the week of my birthday, my mother-in-law's birthday and both of my brother-in-laws(Tyler and Golson), as well as cousin Chrissy and Aunt Carolyn! Wow! God has blessed us indeed.

I do apologize for spreading the news via the blog...but as so many of us live crazy lives it may take weeks to contact everyone via phone.

In other news, Lee is working extremely hard right now on a spine rotation and he has been missing time with Sullivan. He actually only saw her 2-3 times last week before the weekend came! Ugh! He is missing out on some fun moments like this one...

We are on the brink of potty training with her and so yesterday, I brought her to a store to let her pick out some "big girl panties." She chose Elmo ones (although we've only watched Elmo once or twice, she has a doll of Elmo that she loves), she calls Elmo "La la" as we sing the song often. She then proceeded to "wear" her "La la" panties as hats and bracelets for the rest of the day! Ha! It looks like I'll have to explain a bit more about this to her...:)

Hope that you are all well!

2010!

It is upon us! Crazy to think we are now entering a whole new decade of the 2000s...I hope that you and yours had a very nice Christmas and New Year's. We spent the week of Christmas at home for the first time in our lives, and we did appreciate the quiet, humble Christmas we had. We were able to share Christmas dinner with our good friends the Hollenbecks, whom we are so grateful for. Sullivan loved getting to see her best buds, Dane and Blake! You'll see them below enjoying their "show" after the Christmas meal. From Dec.28-Jan.3, we were able to visit our families in Montgomery and spend some great time hitting the Montgomery Eastdale Mall, eating a ton, playing with tons of new toys from the grandparents, celebrating my neice Josephine's 2nd birthday and going out on a few dates. I even went to the movies twice! Wow! Good times were had by all and Lee and I both felt that we had a nice "getaway" with lots of time just the two of us, much help with Sullivan and quality time with our loved ones. Happy 2010!

Having technical issues with pictures, hopefully I'll get it worked out soon!

recent moments

Here are some pics from Thanksgiving as well as a video of Sullivan's production of new animal sounds, locating body parts and trying to grab the camera. :)

The House of Blues...

We've had a few house issues as of late! Thankfully, almost everything is fixed and will be in working order soon, but whew! as I was washing dishes outside in my yard with a hose yesterday, I was feeling a bit of the blues! So,last week, we had some heavy rain and our basement basically flooded. Then, the dishwasher had been making terrible sounds, was not running water and was eventually deemed broken and finally, the water to our kitchen sink was leaking and had to be turned off until Lee could obtain a part and fix it. (And I must say that I am SO very impressed that Lee can fix plumbing! Wow!) Now the basement has drained, a new dishwasher is in route from Sears this week and Lee fixed the water to the sink. I now have a new appreciation for the simple ammenities like running water and a dishwasher!

In other news, Sullivan is getting more teeth these days and is learning more and more new words all the time. She loves to name everything around her and is quite particular about where things are, how she would like them and how she wears certain things. She is responding well to time-out these days, as we are working to eliminate certain behaviors like hitting, throwing, biting.

Hope all is well at your house! More recent pictures to come!

Happy Birthday Lee!

To my dear husband, Lee, I wish you a wonderful 29th year! You are the love of my life and a man of integrity, strength and diligence. I admire you, seek to emulate you and respect you profoundly. You are the love of my life and it is such a privilege to be your wife. Here's to a remarkable husband, father, friend, surgeon and so much more...Happy Birthday, Lee!

The above picture is yet another example of Lee's goodness. At our recent Family Reunion he reached out and spent some quality time with my second-cousin, Michael, who really needed a buddy.
